millirobotResearchers at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems have invented a tiny soft robot that is magnetically controlled.

This amazing robot can walk, crawl, roll and even swim.  Being able to curl up and roll also allows it to curl and grasp objects.

The robot is made of an elastic polymer embedded with magnetic particles.

Hopefully one day the robot will be used for medical applications.  The work on the robot was inspired by jellyfish and caterpillars.
